Frank Roland Willey, 65, died unexpectedly Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in White River Junction, VT.

He was born March 8, 1948, in Newport, VT, the son of Donald N. and Ellen E. (Stearns) Willey. Frank grew up in Greensboro Bend, VT and graduated from Greensboro High School class of 1966. He enlisted in the Navy where he served his country for four years before he was honorably discharged in 1972. He moved to Wilder VT, and went to work for Vermont Heel Company where he met his life partner Melinda Hunt in 1977. They continued to live in Wilder until 1984 when they moved to West Lebanon for many years later settling in Enfield in 1999. Frank went to work for White River Paper Co. in 1979 in the warehouse, working his way up to a customer service position. Frank retired in 2011 after 32 years with the company.

Frank loved animals and children, gardening both flower and vegetable, and cooking. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Red Sox. He especially loved his two cats Jewel and Abby.

He is predeceased by a sister Evelyn Kellogg.

He is survived by his wife, Melinda Hunt of Enfield, five sisters, Linda Smith of Waitsfield, VT, Shirley Pearson of Barton, VT, Sylvia Gates of East Hardwick, VT, Virginia Richardson of Morrisville, VT and Jeanette Guyette of Wilder, Several nieces and nephews and two great-nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT, Thursday, June 13, 2013 from noon – 2pm immediately followed by a funeral at the funeral home. Committal services will be held Friday at 11am in the West Lebanon Cemetery in West Lebanon, NH.
