Frank Jerry Dow, Sr., 85, of White River Junction, died on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care in Lebanon, NH. He was the son of Frank Dow and Gladys Smith and was born in 1937 at the Marie Fletcher Hospital in Burlington, VT. He spent most of his early years in Vermont and then lived for a time in Massachusetts and Connecticut, before returning to Vermont in 1969.

Frank married Donna Marie McDonald when he was 16 years old and together they had four children: Evelyn Adams, Frank Dow, Jr., Patricia Hackett, and Susan Dow. The couple divorced in 1980.

In 1992, Frank met Lois Billado at a dancehall in Ludlow, VT and they married later that year. They spent the next 24 years enjoying their children, grandchildren, music, dancing, and card games until Lois died in June of 2017.

Frank often held more than one job at a time and was a man who valued hard work, honesty, and getting the bills paid. Between 1955 and 2010, he regularly donated blood to the Red Cross, often giving 5 or 6 times per year. Frank loved country music, especially that of Hank Williams, Sr., Eddie Arnold, Hank Snow, and Lefty Frizzell. He was friendly to everyone, but closest with members of his family.

Frank is survived by his daughters Evelyn Adams of White River Junction and Patricia Hackett of Sharon; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his wife Lois and two children Susan Dow and Frank Dow, Jr.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022, from 1pm until the Memory Sharing Service at 3pm at Knight Funeral Home, White River Junction, VT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to the Haven or consider donating blood.
