Francis "Pete" Peter Davis, 66, died Friday, June 28, 2013 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in White River Junction, VT.
He was born May 18, 1947 in Burlington, VT, the son of Robert and Ethel (Mastare) Davis. This is where he grew up and attended the Burlington Schools. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the United States Army where he served two tours in Vietnam and was later honorably discharged. He returned to the Burlington area where he worked for many years as a house painter and later as a taxi driver. He was married to Bonnie (Salls) Kalacinski in 1999 they moved to Newport, NH where he has been since.
Pete was a Life Time Gold Circle Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 782. He loved to socialize at the local flea markets and hold weekly yard sales. When he was not doing this he enjoyed fishing, telling stories and jokes. But his true passion was to spend time with his family.
He was predeceased by siblings, Larry Davis, Ken Davis, Donal Davis, Lillian Barrett, Loretta Hill, Pauline Meyers, and Linda Georgie,
He is survived by his wife Bonnie Davis of Newport, NH; three sons Andrew Davis and his wife Tracy, Jessie Davis and his wife Heather, and Michael Davis; two daughters Mary Davis Dashno and Jennifer Davis Dashno; step daughter Linda (Kalacinski) Yell; two step sons Robert Kalacinski, and William Kalacinski; a sister Veronica James, 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Monday, July 8, 2013 from 10AM-12PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT. Followed immediately by services at the funeral Home at 12pm. Burial will be in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, VT.
