Frances McArthur

North Hartland, VT- Frances (Berk) McArthur, 96, of North Hartland, VT, died Tuesday, March 8th at home with her family by her side.

She was born March 30, 1914 in Manchester, CT, the daughter of Joseph and Franciszka (Lenosky) Berk. Frances attended school in Southampton, MA. She married Millard R. McArthur December 16, 1933 in Holyoke, MA, where they lived until moving to Lisbon, NH for a time. In 1958 Frances and Millard moved to White River Jct., VT where she lived until she moved to North Hartland to live with her daughter in 1987.

Frances loved being outdoors, especially when she was working in her garden. She also enjoyed crocheting and cooking for her family.

She is predeceased by her husband Millard in 1986, a daughter, Virginia McCarthy, a brother Clarence Berk, and sisters Mary Deptula, Lena Wiles, and Anne Young and her great-grandson Jacob.

Frances is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth McArthur of North Hartland, VT, Carol Richer, of White River Jct., VT, and Susan Tovino of Lawrenceville, NJ, her grandchildren Michelle Richer, Joseph and Shelly Richer and their children Noah and Alexis, Beth and Craig Cadreact and their children Dylon, Connor, and Bryce and Nicole and Martin Maloney.

Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT Monday from 6-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10AM at St. Anthony's Church in White River Jct.
