Florence Eva Viens
White River Jct., VT - Florence Eva Viens, 85, passed away on Monday December 29, 2014 at Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct. where she has been a patient since 2009.
Florence was born in Springfield, MA on August 3, 1929 to George and Delima (Ashline) Viens, Sr. the 7th of 9 children. After graduating from Sacred Heart High School in 1947, Florence entered the convent of the Sisters of Holy Cross. She became a teacher and retired in 1994. She was living in Nashua, NH before moving to Vermont when her doctor decided she couldn't live alone due to having Alzheimer's.
Florence is survived by her sister, Elaine George and husband Franklin of White River Jct. and four generations of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, George Joseph Viens, Jr., Arthur William Viens, Raymond Joseph Viens and Ernest Rainey Viens, three sisters Leona Richards, Priscilla Faivre and Gertrude Tyburski as well as a nephew and a great nephew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday December 31st at 10AM at St. Anthony's Church in White River Jct.; there will be no visiting hours. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, also in White River Jct., in the spring. Arrangements are entrusted to the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct.
