Enfield, NH – Everett E. Cook, 89, died Friday, April 2, at Genesis Eldercare in Lebanon, NH.
He was born November 1, 1920, in Hanover, NH, a son of Ernest E. and Marion B. (Graham) Cook. He grew up in Norwich, VT, and graduated from Hanover High School Class of 1939. He served with the US Navy during World War II before returning home to Norwich. He was married to Dorothy Adams January 6, 1944, in Norwich. They lived in Lewiston and then in Norwich for a time before moving to Enfield, NH, in 1947 where they have lived since. Mr. Cook worked at Dartmouth Printing in Hanover as a pressman for many years and retired from the maintenance department after forty years of service.
He was a member of the Lyman Pell American Legion in Norwich as well as the Enfield Outing Club.
He is survived by his wife of Enfield, a son, Bruce A. Cook and his wife Sherry D. of Grafton, NH, a daughter, Gayle A. Ibey also of Grafton, six grandchildren, Jennifer A. Bryant, Benjamin T. Ibey, Travis E. Cook, Cassandra S. Crosby, Kathryn E. Cook and Lauren A. Ibey and two great-grandchildren, Justin D. Cook and Chloe M. Crosby.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 17, at 3PM in the Hillside Cemetery in Norwich. There will be a gathering for family and friends immediately following the service at the Enfield Community Building on Route 4 in Enfield.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
