Evelyn R. Stanley
South Strafford, VT – Evelyn R. Stanley, 73, died Tuesday December 2, 2014 at Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct., VT.
She was born November 21, 1941 in Lebanon, NH a daughter of Edward and Evelyn (Petty) Chamberlain. Evelyn grew up and attended schools in Quechee and Hartford. She was married to Henry Stanley October 17, 1959. They lived in Hartford for many years where they raised their family, and Evelyn worked at Brookside Nursing Home. They later moved to South Strafford where she lived until recently when she became a resident at Brookside Nursing Home. Henry died in 2013 after 54 years of marriage.
She was also predeceased by her daughter Linda Stanley, and brothers James and Billy Chamberlain.
She leaves her sons Henry and Donald Stanley both of White River Jct., VT; several grandchildren; brothers Duane and Paul Chamberlain of White River Jct. and sisters Kathy McGrail of Boscowen, NH, Rachel Louis of Danville, VT, Betty Barron of Kittery, ME, Margaret Willey of Pembrooke, NH, Jessie Smith of Alabama and Martha Rogers of Lebanon, NH.
A graveside service will be held in the Hilltop Cemetery in Quechee in the spring with her brother-in-law, the Rev. William Barron officiating.
