Obituary

White River Jct., VT - Evelyn May Schultz, 81, died Friday February 1, 2019 at Elmwood Center in Claremont, NH.

She was born March 3, 1937 in Hanover, NH a daughter of Harry and Daisy Bell (Melendy) Small.  Evelyn attended school in Lyme and graduated from Hanover High School.  She began working in the medical records department at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital her senior year and continued on until 1959.  Evelyn was married to Joseph Hamel in 1956, they made their home in Meriden, NH and started a family together before his death at a young age in 1966.  She married Robert Crease in 1967 and they lived in Lebanon and had a son before later divorcing.  Evelyn worked as a cashier at George's store in Enfield,  K-Mart and the P&C in Lebanon until she was injured and no longer able to work.  She married G. Charles Schultz in 1989 and they enjoyed 23 years together until his death in 2012.

Evelyn took dance lessons when she was young and loved to dance, more recently she enjoyed playing cards with her friends at Windsor Hollow.  She also enjoyed trips out west to see her daughter in Wyoming and also visited Devil's Tower and Mt. Rushmore.

She was a member of the Olivet Baptist Church in West Lebanon and a past member of the Morning Star Grange in Lyme where she enjoyed dancing in her youth.

She is survived by her children, Mary Jane Mosteller and her husband Kenny of Casper, WY,  Thomas J. Hamel and his wife Lisa of Grafton, NH,  Patricia Ann Demers and her husband Doug of Enfield, NH and a son Edward A. Crease and his wife Tammy of  Charlestown, NH; 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; sisters Nancy Dyke and her husband Tim of Orford, NH, Rita Bell Thompson and her husband Arthur of FL.; brothers,  Richard J. Small and his wife Priscilla of FL, Larry J. Small of Charlestown, NH as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Charles Schultz who died Oct. 25, 2012 also three brothers Robert, Kenneth and infant Harry Small Jr. also two sisters, Minnie Hahn and infant Mary Jane Small.

Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., on Saturday February 9th from 3-5PM.  A funeral service will follow at 5PM with the Rev. Joseph Scearbo of the Olivet Baptist Church in West Lebanon officiating.  Burial in the Riverside Cemetery in Woodstock will take place later in the spring.
