Evelyn Isabelle Danaher, 97, died Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at home, with family by her side.

She was born June 11, 1924, in Thomaston, CT a daughter of Louis and Isabelle Jane (White) DeLong. Evelyn graduated from high school in Thomaston and in 1943 she was married to John F. Danaher. They lived for a time on the Danaher family farm in Thomaston. While Mr. Danaher was logging in Vermont with his brother, they found a piece of heaven in the Dothan District of Hartford and both families decided to move there. John and Evelyn purchased a home in the Dothan District where they raised their five children and lived the rest of their lives. Evelyn worked at the Hartford Woolen Mill until it closed and then began cleaning homes for families in the Hanover area, which she continued to do well into her eighties.

Evelyn was active at St. Anthony Church in White River Jct. and also enjoyed sewing, gardening, and making rugs. To this day her floors are covered with rugs she made from scraps of wool from the Hartford Woolen Mill.

She was predeceased by her husband, John F. Danaher, in 1977 as well as a son, John H. Danaher, daughters, Janet Valley and Denise LeHane, sister, Sarah Gilbert and brothers, Walter and James DeLong.

Evelyn leaves two sons, Michael E. Danaher of Royalton, VT and Patrick F. Danaher of Belmont, MA as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 10 ^th at 11AM at St. Anthony Church in White River Jct. with burial in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery and a gathering to follow.
