Eva Rose Cushman Barrows Vincent
White River Jct., VT – Eva Rose Cushman Barrows Vincent, 81, died peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday April 30, 2013 at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, NH.
Eva was born August 24, 1931 in Bradford, VT a daughter of George K. and Eva (Colby) Cushman. She spent her early years in Bradford before her family moved to Hartford Village. In Hartford she met and was married to Alfred Barrows. They began a family together before his death in 1965. She was later married to Noel Vincent in 1968; they lived in White River Jct. for many years where they operated a rubbish removal and recycling business together. After their retirement they lived on Mascoma Lake for a time before returning to White River where they lived the rest of their lives. Noel died on January 31st.
Eva was a devout member of St. Anthony's Church where she was a past member of the Catholic Daughters. She was also a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in White River Jct. and volunteered with Noel on many charities including Meals on Wheels and collecting and delivering goods for the Upper Valley Humane Society.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Alfred Barrows and Noel Vincent, two sons Ralph and Alfred Barrows; a step son Peter Vincent; great-granddaughter Faith Monmaney; two sisters Elizabeth Goodell and Francise Gusha and two brothers, Jeremiah Cushman and Frank Cushman.
She is survived by a daughter Nancy Kendall; a step son Thomas Vincent of Hartland; a brother George Cushman of Chelsea, VT; three sisters, Bertha Crump of FL, Elsie Slack of MA and Myrtle Spaulding of FL as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday May 2nd from 6-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday May 3rd at 11AM at St. Anthony's Church with burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery both in White River Jct.
