Obituary

Eunice Jane (Baird) Bishop
Wilder, VT – Eunice Jane (Baird) Bishop, 77, of Wilder, VT died peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 02, 2013 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born in East Burke, VT on May 31, 1935, the daughter of Walter H. Baird and Ellen M. (Magoon) Baird. She was the youngest of nine children.
Eunice graduated from Lyndon Institute in June of 1953 and within the week was married to a local farmer's son, Marvin Lee Bishop on June 19th. Marvin had flown up from his duties at Fort Campbell, KY in a recently purchased single engine, two-seater Aeronka Champ to marry his sweetheart and fly her back down south to complete his service obligation.
Their airplane honeymoon started a nearly 60-year marriage full of loving children, grandchildren, airplanes, puzzling and RV'ing. Eunice and Marvin enjoyed taking their grandchildren camping, attending the grandkids' sporting events and tackling a Charles Wysocki 1,000-piece puzzle in front of their big bay window with anyone who might stop by. Marvin's retirement "hobby" of building airplanes in their garage provided them with a steady stream of visitors and numerous days out at local airports talking, tweaking and flying.
Eunice loved her family "bushels and bushels".
Eunice is survived by her husband, Marvin, her three children and their spouses: Terry & Nancy Bishop, Jeff & Kathy Bishop, and Robin & Jeff Marsh; their six grandchildren Tony Bishop, Jessica Bishop Grace, Kerry Marsh, Abigale Marsh, Courtney Bishop Ryder & Bobby Bishop; three great granddaughters, Annika Bishop, Cheyenne Grace and Wynona Grace (who gave great joy to her Great Grandmother and eased the sadness of the day by entering this world just four hours before we said good bye to Eunice); two sisters, a brother and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society, 4832 Route 44, West Windsor, Vermont 05037; (802) 484-5829 or www.lucymac.org.
Graveside services will be held later this spring.
