White River Jct., VT – Eugene R. Burnham, 60, died Tuesday March 15th at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

He was born May 11, 1950 in Lebanon, NH a son of Reginald E. and Dorothy (Douglas) Burnham. Eugene graduated from Hartford High School Class of 1968 before serving in Germany with the US Army. He was married to Linnie Ray in Orford, NH February 6, 1971; they have lived in Hartford, VT most of their married lives. He worked at Cone-Blanchard in Windsor for several years before beginning with the Town of Hartford Water Department where he worked until retiring in June after 27 years of service.

Eugene was an avid bowler and enjoyed NASCAR, camping at Shady Oaks campground in Bangor, ME the Red Sox, blue grass music and cribbage. He also enjoyed anything with an engine especially Mopar, including his '75 White Dodge Pickup. He also operated Hartford Small Engine Repair and was a member of the Red Neck Lawn Mower Racing League. Most of all he enjoyed time with his family.

He was a twenty year member of the American Legion Post 26 in White River Jct. as well as CRACK (Connecticut River Antique Collectors Klub).

He is survived by his wife Linnie of White River Jct.; a daughter Valerie Martin and her husband Chuck of West Lebanon, NH; a son Dennis Burnham and his wife Melissa of Lebanon; three grandchildren, Ryan Burnham and Michael and Katie Martin; three brothers Brian Burnham of Meridianville, AL, Jason Burnham of White River Jct., and Alan Burnham of Bath, NH; five sisters Beverly Wells of Rockingham, VT, Nancy Leonard of Lebanon, NH, Norma Alley of Enfield, NH, Julie MacAdam of Lebanon, NH and Karen Macedo of White River Jct. as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT Friday March 18th from 7-9PM. A memorial service will be held Saturday at the funeral home at 11AM.
