WINDSOR, VT
Esther E. Vezina, 91, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Monday evening, April 11, at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 22, 1924 in Graniteville, VT the daughter of Murdo and Minnie (Kitteridge) Murray. She received her education in Graniteville and Windsor, and graduated from Windsor High School in 1942. As a young lady she was employed at the former Osgood Grocery Store in Windsor. She married Armand R. Vezina in Windsor on August 11, 1945. Mrs. Vezina was a loving wife and mother and proudly raised her family.
She was fond of gardening, cooking and traveling. She enjoyed feeding and watching the hummingbirds in her backyard. She and her husband spent the winter months in Florida for many years. She especially loved spending time with her family.
She was a longtime member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor, and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was also a member of the Mt. Ascutney Hospital Auxiliary, the Windsor Fire Department Auxiliary and the Windsor Friends in Council.
Her devoted husband of sixty four years, passed away on July 11, 2009. She was also predeceased by her parents, one brother, Donald Murray and five sisters, Edith, Margaret, Marion, Katherine and her twin sister, Christina.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Fusca and her husband, Vincent of Windsor, three sons, Ronald Vezina and his wife, Lenoura of Windsor, Gary Vezina of Windsor and Jim Vezina and his wife, Stephanie of Hartland, ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday evening, April 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Saturday, April 16 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor. The Rev. Paul N. Belhumeur, M.S., will be the Celebrant. Committal services will follow in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will follow in Fellowship Hall at the church.
