Ermina "Mina" Bianchi, 98, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Tuesday morning, December 27 at the Cedar Hill Continuing Care Community in Windsor.
She was born November 18, 1913 in Windsor the daughter of Venuto and Nerina (Datti) Bianchi. She received her schooling in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1931. She later attended Bay Path Business College. Mina was employed at the former Cone Automatic Machine Tool Company in Windsor from 1936 until her retirement in 1977. She was the executive secretary to many presidents of the company including Henry Chaplin.
She was a longtime and active member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor.
During her retirement, Mina enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends, working crossword puzzles, taking trips to Maine, and watching the neighborhood children from her front porch of her home on Elm Street. She had a wonderful sense of humor and especially enjoyed telling jokes to the delight of her friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, one brother, Louis Bianchi and one nephew, Peter Bianchi. She is survived by one grand niece, Datti Bianchi of Harpswells, Maine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 31 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor. The Rev. Thomas Mosher will be the celebrant. Committal services will follow in the St. Francis Cemetery in Windsor. A reception for family and friends will follow back at the church hall.
