Strafford, VT – Erika Elida Rogstad died on Sunday, May 19, 2024, in Strafford, VT surrounded by her family. She was 46. Erika was born on April 20, 1978, in Rutland, VT to parents Ralph R. and Suzanne O. (McCommish) Rogstad. The family soon moved to Weathersfield, VT and she became a big sister to her brother, Chris. She took on her new role with gusto, and the two remained close throughout her life. They attended concerts together: she an avid NKOTB fan and he, willing company on her adventures. In adulthood, she loved being an aunt and welcomed close friends into her family circle. She was devoted and deeply appreciative of her people.

After graduation from Springfield High School, she completed a bachelor's degree in accounting from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island. Most recently, she was working as a clinical secretary in the hematology department at Dartmouth Health in Lebanon, NH until her health deteriorated.

She was careful planner, thinker, and introvert who had a love of American, English, and Irish history. She spent time abroad visiting Ireland and Spain, sometimes with friends and sometimes on her own. As the keeper of family photos, history, and Irish heritage, she carefully built and maintained scrapbooks. She was an avid reader, enjoying long afternoons and evenings with her cats and a good novel.

Erika is survived by her brother, Chris Rogstad, and his partner, Niki Morett, of Jenkintown, PA; her nephew, Breckin Rogstad of South Royalton, VT; family members, Hillerie and Bob Stone and daughter, Braylin Coutermarsh of Strafford, VT; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of Erika's life will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024, from 11 am until 2 pm at the Hartland dam in Hartland, Vermont.
