Obituary

HARTLAND, VT
Eloise C. Rumrill, 88, a longtime resident of Hartland, passed away Saturday morning, February 25 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT.
She was born September 2, 1923 in Sharon, VT the daughter of Leonard and Ruth (Robinson) Moore. She received her schooling in Sharon and South Royalton, graduating from South Royalton High School in 1940. She married Robert L. Rumrill in Sharon on June 15, 1946.
Eloise was a longtime active member of the Hartland First Congregational Church, where she was a member of the church choir and the Ladies Benevolent Society. She was also a member of the Hartland Community Arts and Theater Program, a life member of the Hartland PTA, and a member of the DAR Thomas Chittenden Chapter in White River Jct.
She enjoyed quilting and had created many beautiful quilts. She lived a very full and wonderful life and met her life challenges with grace and dignity. She was a great example of what a wife and mother should be and loved spending time with her family.
Her husband of sixty years passed away on October 28, 2006.
She was also predeceased by two brothers, Paul Moore and David Moore, and by one sister, Helen McCarthy.
Survivors include one son, Christopher Rumrill and his wife, Julie of Hartland, three daughters, Josephine Moore and her husband, Gordon of Jericho, VT, Kathleen Rogers and her husband, Dan of Las Cruces, NM, and Shirleen Rose and her husband, Bill of Bennington, VT, eight grandchildren, three great grandsons with another to join the family in May, three brothers, Robert Moore of North Pomfret, VT, Clyde Moore of Texas, and Joel Moore of Bradford, VT and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 10 at 1:00PM at the Hartland First Congregational Church with the Rev. Lucia Jackson, Pastor, officiating. Committal services will be held at the convenience of her family at a later date in the Hartland Village Cemetery.
