Ellsworth "Peanut" Parker, 82, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. He had been declining in health since a stroke in May of 2015.

Peanut was born March 30, 1933 in Chester, VT the son of Harvey and Anne (Merriam) Parker. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed at Fort Dix, NJ and later at Fort Devens, MA

He prided himself on being a hard worker and jack of all trades. As a young boy he worked with his step dad, Stanley Nott on various farms in VT. He later went to work as a teenager at the Hartford Woolen Mill. After his military service he married Elizabeth Mary Bettis in 1957 in White River Junction, where they resided later moving to Wilder in 1964.

Peanut's working career included being a mechanic at Potters Mobil Station in White River Junction. Later he managed and supervised at the IGA Stores in Lebanon and Newport, NH. He went to work at the newly opened Petco Minimart which later became Cumberland Farms in White River Junction. He was employed as a car salesman at Clifford's Garage in West Hartford and Later at Gateway Motors in White River Junction until his retirement in the Mid 1990's.

He enjoyed time in his backyard workshop doing woodworking, small engine repair and just fixing small appliances. He was a member of the Hartford Elks Lodge# 1541 BPOE.

He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years in 2009, his parents, and his siblings Harvey, Gordon, and Charlotte (Parker) Lavinge.

His is survived by his three children, Dan Parker and Wife Theo of Greenville, NC, Steve Parker of Windsor and Lisa Stoelting and husband Ray of Wilder; three grandchildren Brent Parker and wife Emily of Vail, CO, Andrew Parker and Emily Parker both of Minneapolis, MN and one great-granddaughter Charley of Vail.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 6-8pm at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11am at the White River Junction United Methodist Church followed by burial at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in White River Junction.
