Ellen E. Aremburg
East Corinth, VT – Ellen E. Aremburg, 65, died Thursday July 14th at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
She was born December 18, 1945 in Bradford, VT a daughter of Hayward and Alice (Cunningham) Erwin. Ellen grew up in Corinth and attended Bradford Academy. She was married to Daniel Aremburg March 8, 1964 in Haverhill, NH. They lived in Lyndonville for a time before moving to the Upper Valley where they spent the rest of their lives. Mrs. Aremburg worked at various jobs outside the home but devoted her life to caring for her family as well as others.
She was an active member of the Assembly of God Church in Lebanon and former co-chair of the Upper Valley Chapter of the Fresh Air Fund. She enjoyed whale watching, the Boston Red Sox and all types of auto racing. She also enjoyed crafting including sewing and crocheting and true to her caring nature donated thousands of pairs of mittens over the years as well as choir robes for church and many other items she crafted with love.
She was predeceased by her husband Dan in 2009 and is survived by two sons Eric Aremburg of Unity, NH and Daniel Aremburg Jr. of West Hartford, VT three daughters Wanda King of Quechee, VT, Kim Edwards of Rutland, VT and Melissa McGranaghan of Enfield, NH; fourteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; a close friend of the family who she helped to raise, Carl Farnham; three brothers Wayne Erwin of East Corinth, VT, Dale Erwin of Thetford, VT and David Erwin of East Corinth with whom she has lived with for the past year; two sisters Lois Paige of Thetford, VT and Edie Thurston of Newbury, VT as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. Monday from 6-8PM, a memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11AM at the Assembly of God Church in Lebanon with burial following at 3PM in the Ladd Street Cemetery in Haverhill, NH.
