Elizabeth "Betty" Lorraine Stickney, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the age of 96 at Elm Wood Center in Claremont, NH.

Born November 14, 1928, in Somerville, New Jersey, to Henry and Ann (Waldron) Gehring, Betty spent her early years in Somerville before moving to Williston Park, Long Island, as a teenager. She graduated from Mineola High School in 1947. In 1960, she married Warren Stickney, and together they welcomed their daughter Barbara in 1963. In 1978, Betty relocated from Long Island to Glencliff, New Hampshire, where she made her home for many years.

Betty was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, cheering passionately for both the Phillies and the Eagles. She also enjoyed sewing, cross-country skiing, and was especially fond of thrift shopping. However, her greatest joy came from her Christian ministry as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Since her dedication in November 1980, she faithfully shared her hope and beliefs for nearly 45 years, right up until her passing.

She is survived by her daughters, Christie Sokolowski and her husband, Stanley of Daytona Beach, FL; Barbara Lyons and husband Robert of NH; grandchildren, Todd Gregory and his wife, Nadia, along with their sons, Dillon and Jacob of NJ; Shannon Saenz and her children, Natalia and Dominic, of NJ; Katie Sokolowski and husband, Suhail Abbas, of CA; and Kyle Sokolowski of GA. She is also remembered by her nephew, Robert Gehring and niece, Cathleen Farrell, children of her late brother, William Gehring, along with their families.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Lebanon, NH. A private burial will take place in the Glencliff Cemetery in Glencliff, NH at the convenience of the family.
