Shaughnessy, Elizabeth J. age 94, died on June 13, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence C. Shaughnessy of Belmont, MA. Elizabeth was born at home in Wellesley Hills, MA, to James J. and Mary B. Pipa. She had 9 brothers and sisters, 8 of whom predeceased her. The loving mother of Lawrence Jr., Patricia, and Mary, she is also survived by 4 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She attended Bryant & Stratton Business Institute, and spent most of her career working as an executive secretary for the Gaebler Children's Center of the Metropolitan State Hospital in Waltham, MA. She was an advocate for the underserved with a particular interest in women's and children's issues. She was also an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Visiting hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. Sunday June 17th from 3-5PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday June 18th at 9 AM at St. Denis Church in Hanover. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Roslindale, MA at 2 PM on Monday.
