Obituary

Enfield, NH – Elizabeth J. Radicioni, 73, died Saturday April 24th at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born November 29, 1936 in Norwich, CT a daughter of William Elmer and Beatrice (Gauthier) Burdick. She grew up in the Groton and New London, CT area before her family moved to Westerly, RI where she graduated from Westerly High School. She was married to Walter A. Radicioni August 22, 1953 in Westerly. Mrs. Radicioni stayed at home raising her eight children while her husband served four years with the US Navy and twenty years with the US Coast Guard. After his retirement from the Coast Guard they began their careers as restaurant owners first in Matunuck, RI where they operated Carpenters Grill. They moved to Quechee, VT in 1980 where they lived for the next twenty years. They owned Quechee Realty for a time before purchasing Brooksie's Restaurant in Sharon, VT which they operated for over twenty years. They then operated Grabber's Restaurant in Manchester, NH until retiring. Since retiring they have lived on Mascoma Lake in Enfield, NH.

Betty enjoyed nature, cooking and traveling but most of all loved her family and their time together. She was very active in school and church activities in Westerly when her children were growing up. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Society at the Church of Immaculate Conception in Westerly.

She is survived by her husband of fifty six years, Walter Radicioni of Enfield, NH, eight children Renee Pavlus and her husband David of Provo, UT, Toni Bacon and her husband Brett of Dover, NH, Nina Chu and her husband Peter of West Hartford, VT, Mark Radicioni and his wife Dee of Hopkinton, RI, Walter Radicioni Jr. and his wife Gina of West Hartford, VT, Lee Ann Julich and her husband Terry of Mercer Island, WA, Susan LaPlaca and her husband Joseph of Sharon, VT and Laura Ramos of Lebanon, NH; twenty six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home, 903 Hartford Ave, White River Jct., VT Wednesday from 4PM until 8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10AM at St. Anthony's Church in White River Jct. with burial following in the Broadbrook Cemetery in Sharon, VT.
