Obituary

WINDSOR, VT
Elizabeth Johnson-Biron, 73, a resident of Windsor, passed away Monday evening September 27 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor. She was born January 10, 1937 in Hanover, NH the daughter of Roderick and Bernice (Campbell) Thurston. She received her schooling in Burlington and attended nursing school. She married Alan Johnson and they were later divorced. She married Antonio Biron and they were later divorced. She and her family resided in Tucson, Arizona for several years where she worked as a seamstress and later in Wichita, Kansas where she was employed at Beech Aircraft. They returned to Vermont in 1979. She had been employed as a nurse's aide at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor for over thirty years before her retirement.
Elizabeth enjoyed crafts. She was a loyal friend to many. She loved her pets. She was a foster mother to many in Vermont for many years.
She was predeceased by one brother John Thurston and one sister Charlene Eldridge.
Survivors include, two sons, Peter Johnson and Roderick Johnson both of Windsor, VT, two daughters, Penny Herschel of Brownsville, VT and Judy Kingsley of White River Jct., VT, five grandchildren, Richard, Kelly, Kayla, Hailey and Meranda, two great grandchildren Christopher and Kacey, one brother, James Thurston of White River Jct., VT and two sisters, Joyce Braley of Windsor, VT and Pat Rondeau of Plainfield, NH, several nieces and nephews.
At her request, following cremation, her remains will be interred with her beloved dog "Corky".
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 12 at 11:00 AM in the West Lebanon Cemetery in West Lebanon, NH with the Rev. Rene Butler, Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center at 289 County Road, Windsor, VT 05089.
The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor assisted with the arrangements.
