WINDSOR, VT
Elizabeth A. "Betty" Shaw, 78, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Sunday, February 28 at her home in Windsor.
She was born December 17, 1937 in Weathersfield, VT the daughter of Frank S. and Gladys (Williams) Harris. She received her education in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1955. She worked as a homemaker, proudly raising her five children. She later was employed at the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor for several years until the plant closed in 1987. She most recently was employed at Split Ball Bearing in West Lebanon until her retirement in 1997.
Betty was a member of the Windsor Elks Lodge #1665 and the Windsor American Legion Post #25 Auxiliary. She was fond of shopping, gambling and traveling. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, five brothers, Frank, Norman, Robert, Harold and Richard Harris, by three sisters, Beverly Harris, Evelyn Harris and Doris Paronto. She was also predeceased by her longtime companion, Gerald "Gerry" Castellini in 2001.
Survivors include, one son, David Shaw and his companion, Angela Becker of Windsor, four daughters, Pamela Osgood and her companion, Larry Place of Windsor, Shari Nelson and her husband, Carl of Waverly, MN, Lisa Blodgett and her husband, Cliff of Windsor and Melissa Shaw of Windsor, eight grandchildren, Beth, Breanne, Andrew, Michael, Dylan, Jacob, Bailee and Dallas, three great grandchildren, Jackson, Megan and Spencer, three sisters, Carol DuBois of Windsor, Nancy Sherman of Claremont, NH and Mary Place of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, March 2 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 3 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. A reception for family and friends will follow at the Windsor Elks Lodge. Committal services will be held in the spring in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor.
