Obituary
Windsor, Vermont – Eleanor Adeline Rutherford, 99, died on her birthday, Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct., VT. She was born January 14 1917 in Brockton, MA the daughter of Charles Henry and Clara Victoria (Benson) Havill.
She grew up in Woodstock, VT. She was married to Harry White Rutherford. He predeceased her in 1980.
She worked as a domestic until her marriage and then as a housewife and mother. She always loved nature and especially wild birds. A bird feeder was always present around her household.
She is survived by a son, Nicholas James Rutherford of Lakeland, FL, three daughters, Penny Mae Clark of Covington, Georgia , Shelley Frances Best of White River Jct., VT , and Mary Ann Heckerson of Pensacola, FL, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild, one sister, Mona Hoadley of Woodstock, VT., as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Robert George Rutherford of Cedar Bluff, AL,
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 19, at 2PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. VT. A burial service will be held later in the springtime in the Riverside Cemetery in Woodstock, VT.
