Elaine R. "Kitty" Dillingham, 74, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, May 15 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH
She was born March 31, 1938 in Windsor the daughter of Slayton and Rose (Landry) Kittredge. She received her schooling in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1956. She married Raymond W. Dillingham in Windsor on October 29, 1960. Elaine was employed at the former White's Drug Store in Windsor for several years and later at Polly's Posie Shoppe in Windsor. She had provided child care at her home for many years. She was currently employed as a clerk at Windsor Wine and Spirits.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed gambling and was fond of traveling to casinos. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by one brother, Duane Kittredge and one sister in law, Patricia Kittredge.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Dillingham of Windsor, two sons, Jeffrey Dillingham and his partner, Judy of Fairlee, VT, and Ronald W. Dillingham and his wife, Christina of Hartland, VT, one daughter, Debora S. Henderson and her husband, Tom of White River Jct., two grandchildren, Casey Dillingham and Gage Dillingham, both of Hartland, her lifelong friend, Gloria Furman and her husband, Richard of Windsor, one niece and two nephews, several grand nieces and grand nephews
At her request a graveside service will be held Saturday, May 19 at 10:00 AM in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor. The Rev. Amanda Lape-Freeberg, Pastor of the Old South Congregational Church in Windsor will officiate. A Celebration of Life gathering will follow on Saturday at the Windsor American Legion Hall from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 PM.
