Windsor, VT- Edwin J. Roberts, 80, died Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Healthcare in Windsor, VT, following a brief illness.

Ed was born January 26, 1940 in Woodstock, VT a son of Nelson and Marjorie(Vaughan) Roberts. Ed attended the South Reading School. He was married to Sally White on May 13, 1958 they made their home in Hartland Four Corners, he joined the Navy where he served honorably during the Cuban Missile Crises. Upon his return they made their home in Windsor where they have been since. He worked as a farmer and for Kent's Heating and Plumbing, he then settled in at Cone Automatic where he worked until they left Windsor in 2002. He stayed busy sharpening blades for people or lending a helping hand. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Ed loved to spend time in the outdoors, he was an active hunter and as a family they travel all over the United States camping. In their younger years he and Sally would square dance and they had a circuit of friends that they would play cards with.

He is predeceased by a son Thomas; two brothers Kenneth and Frank; and a sister Ruth.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife Sally of Windsor; two sons James of Statesboro, GA and Dustin of Chelsea, VT; a daughter Cheryl of Enfield, NH; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard of Claremont, NH, George of Florida and Leslie of Springfield, VT; and a sister Kathy Harris of Sanford, FL.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, March 15 from 1-3pm at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, VT. Followed immediately by a memorial service at 3pm in the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to ed's family in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com .
