Obituary

White River Junction, VT- Edward G. Wright, 87, died Sunday May 6, 2012 at the Mt. Ascutney Skilled Nursing Facility in Windsor, VT.

Edward was born September 5, 1924 in the family home on Maplerow Farm, in White River Junction, where he lived his entire life. His parents, Seaver D. and Helen (Gillette) Wright were both direct descendants of the original settlers of the Town of Hartford. Edward enjoyed traveling around the back roads of Vermont with his brother Donald and later in life sitting in his chair supervising at the sawmill. He also enjoyed attending auctions, and watching horse and oxen pulls at all the regional fairs. Edward was a Boston sports fan and enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots.

Edward was a member of The Windsor County Farm Bureau, and a life member of the Vermont Jersey Breeder Association, the New England Jersey Breeder Association and the American Jersey Cattle Association. He and his brothers received the Master Breeder Award in 1995. Edward was also a member of the White River Junction United Methodist Church.
