Obituary

WINDSOR, VT

Edward Ronald Valliere, 86, a longtime resident of Windsor, Vermont, passed
away Thursday afternoon, February 28 at the Elm Wood Center Nursing Home in Claremont, NH, after a brief illness.

Edward was born on September 9, 1932 in New Britain, Connecticut, the son of
the late Joseph Eli John and Irene Mildred (Brulotte) Valliere.

He worked at Cones and Goodyear in Windsor and then as a custodian at the high
school and grade school. He belonged to the Elks Club, enjoying its community
spirit and outreach service.

Planting trees, flower gardening, and bird watching as well as walking in the
woods brought him solace. Edward was an avid reader and had a good
knowledge of geography. He enjoyed meeting people and going out to eat. He
loved writing and sharing his thoughts, having had a column called "Plain Talk" in
the "Windsor Chronicle" for a number of years.

He was predeceased by his parents, wife Gloria, sisters, Edith Edna Dauphin, Mary
Rita Piclardi and twin brother, Edmund Donald Valliere.

Survivors include his younger brother, Armand Valliere and his wife, Laurie of Port St. Lucie, Florida, three daughters, Catherine Simons of Essex Jct., VT, Diane (Sister Mary Helena) Valliere of Mobile. AL and Michelle Groleau of Wells, ME. Of the many nieces and nephews dear to Edward are his nephews, Norman Dauphin and his wife Chelsea of Middleton, CT, Claude Dauphin of Oceanside, CA and his niece, Brenda Pollock of Berlin, CT

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Thursday, May 23 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor. Rev. Lance Harlow will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery. The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor assisted with the arrangements.
