Edward R. Souza

Wilder, Vermont-

Edward R. Souza, 78, died Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in White River Junction, VT.

He was born October 7, 1932 in Mount Vernon, NH the son of Harold and Minnie (Welding) Souza. Ed served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for a time at PSI, White River Heel Company, and New England Culvert all in Wilder, before going to work as a janitor at the Lebanon High School in Lebanon, NH. He was married to Marion Fullington February 12, 1955.They have lived in Wilder since. The Souza's renewed their wedding vows after 48 years February 23, 2003 the day before Marion died.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #26 and a former Member of the Veterans of Foreign War #2571 both in White River Junction, VT. Ed is best known for his inner tube sales from his junk yard and the annual Tube Fest on the Connecticut River. He enjoyed his cats Trouble and Blackie and collecting and recycling items.

He is survived by a son Thomas Souza of Orford, NH three daughters Debbie DuBois of White River Jct., VT, Linda Wieler of Lincoln, NE, and Kathie Willey of Haverhill, NH and Six granddaughters, Brandie, Clarice, Ashley, Jessica, Melissa, and Samantha, six great-grandchildren and a brother David Scruton of Milford, NH
