Obituary

Orange, NH- Edward Gill Mayotte, 81, died Monday, September 14, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. Ed was born August 30, 1939 in White River Junction, VT, a son of Wilfred and Evelyn (Gill) Mayotte. He graduated from Hartford High School class of 1958. Ed worked as a cook at the Howard Johnson's prior to being drafted to the Army in 1963 where he served as Military Police. Upon his return in 1965 he worked at Dartmouth Printing for a time before going to work as a meat cutter at the Grand Union, retiring in 2000. He built a cabin in Orange where he spent his retirement, enjoying a beautiful mountain view and the regular company of bears, turkeys, and deer.

Ed was a member of the American Legion and the Hartford Hurricane Riders. He loved to hunt, was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening.

He is predeceased by a sister Marion Charbono. Ed is survived by two daughters Jenna Mayotte of Gorham, ME and Amy Mayotte and her daughter, Rachel of Hampden, MA; five nieces, Darlene Belloir, Linda Schwartz, Patricia Newberry, Pam Charbono and Janice Charbono.

A celebration of Ed's life will be held at a later date. Knight Funeral Home assisted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com .
