Edward Patrick "Coach" Kehoe, Jr.

Wilder, VT – Edward P. Kehoe, Jr. 50, passed away Wednesday August 6, 2014 at home with his family in Wilder, VT after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born August 22, 1963 in St. Albans, NY a son of Edward and Grace (Delahanty) Kehoe. Ed grew up in Portsmouth, RI and graduated from Bishop Connolly High School in Fall River, MA in 1981. He then earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Bridgewater State College, graduating in 1985.

After college, Ed spent his first five years teaching at St. Andrew's School in Barrington, RI. He then taught for a couple of years at Portsmouth High School in Portsmouth, RI where he coached the boy's basketball team to their first championship in school history.

In 1993 he came to the Upper Valley to teach physical education at Mascoma Valley Regional High School where he taught for over twenty years. While there he coached the girl's basketball team for fourteen years, going to seven straight finals and winning three championships. Ed also coached cross country at Mascoma. More recently Ed coached girl's basketball at Sunapee for three years and for a year at Hartford where he enjoyed coaching his daughters Kelsey and Paige.

On August 13, 1994 Ed was married to Kelli DePaola, they celebrated twenty years of marriage and four beautiful children.

Ed was an amazing man who faced death with dignity and grace. He loved his entire family and cherished his many friends. He will always have a special place in many hearts.

No one could ask for a better husband, father, son, and brother. His main concern was their happiness and well being. His love was unconditional and he never tired of helping care for or supporting them in any way that he could.

Ed is survived by his wife Kelli, and their children Kelsey, Paige, Riley and Parker all of Wilder; brother Tim Kehoe, wife Jennifer and children Ryan and Emily of Perkinsville, VT; parents Ed and Grace Kehoe of White River Jct., VT; uncle Gerry Kehoe and wife Amy of Assonet, MA, aunt Sister Mary Martin of North Smithfield, RI and Uncle Martin H. Delahanty Jr. He also leaves his mother-in-law Patricia DePaola, sister-in-law Tricia DePaola and brother-in-law Carmine DePaola all of Massachesetts.

Visiting hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., Friday August 8th from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Saturday August 9th at Sacred Heart Church in Lebanon. A private burial will take place in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in White River Jct.
