White River Jct., VT – Edward Michael Guarino, 71, died February 24, 2018 at his home in White River Jct., VT.
He was born April 23, 1946 in Hanover, NH a son of Thomas and Edna (Kristl) Guarino. Ed grew up in West Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School class of 1964, where he enjoyed running track. After high school he enlisted in the US Marine Corps, serving with the infantry in Vietnam, receiving several medals including his rifle sharpshooter qualification. After his discharge as a Sergeant, Ed returned to White River Jct. where he worked in the construction of the Wilder Dam. He was married for a time but was later divorced. Due to physical injuries and what we now know as post traumatic stress disorder, Ed was 100% disabled by the VA and unable to work for most of his adult life. He has lived at Dale's Homes Mobile Home Park for nearly 20 years and received great help from his neighbor Ben Guyette for much of that time.
He was predeceased by a brother Thomas. V. Guarino and sisters Katherine A. Booth and Rose M. Fucci.
He is survived by his sisters Loretta L. "Lolly" Guarino of Wolcott, VT, Leonora "Lee" LaMudge of Laconia, NH and Antoinetta M. Mathurs of FL as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and cousins.
Burial with military honors will be in the West Lebanon Cemetery in West Lebanon, NH later in the spring.
