Barnet, VT – Edward N. Brower, 88,  died Wednesday, December 24, 2025, with his family at his side.

Ed was born May 8, 1937, in Norwich, Vermont and lived all his life in White River Jct before moving to Barnet after retirement.

He married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Hill, on April 4,1954 at her father's home in North Conway, NH and graduated from Hartford High School in 1955. Over his long varied working career driving tractor trailer trucks was a highlight.

Ed was a longtime member of the White River Junction United Methodist Church and later a member of the Presbyterian Church of Barnet, where he formed many strong friendships and community bonds. He was a loving and caring man with a strong sense of humor who greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Ed will be fondly remembered for his generosity and charitable contributions to his community, including the Russtown Cemetery.

He was predeceased by his son, Matthew Brower.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy H. Brower of Barnet; three children, Gregory Brower of South Ryegate, Kerwin Brower (Mary)of White River Junction, and Dorrene Marcotte (Roger) of Williston; eight grandchildren, Garrett Brower, Meagan Kunkle (John), Kris Brower, Ben Brower, Becky Scrivo (John), Tim Marcotte (Liz), Jeremy Marcotte (Megan), Taylor Marcotte 08/1937(Stephanie); seventeen great-grandchildren; one great great grandson; two sisters, Judith Lee Humphrey of  Homosassa, FL, and Janice Dupere (Roger) of Northfield, VT and numerous nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT, immediately followed by a funeral service there.
