White River Junction, VT- Edna M. Torrey, 86, died Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Elmwood Center Genesis in Claremont, NH.

Born June 17, 1938, in Woodsville, NH, Edna was a daughter of Carlton and Beaulah (Waters) Gray.

She graduated from Thetford Academy in 1956 and went on to attend Northampton College, graduating with an Associate's Degree. On September 16, 1961, she married Eugene H. Torrey at Thetford Congregational Church. The couple made their home in White River Junction, where they raised their family and lived most of their lives. She was an avid fan of Wheel of Fortune and the Boston Red Sox.

A devoted wife, mother, and community member, Edna was actively involved with the American Legion Post 26, where she played a key role in organizing the Post's popular BINGO events alongside her husband. She was also a dedicated member of the American Legion Auxiliary in White River Junction.

Edna had a deep love of travel and adventure. Together with Eugene, she explored nearly every corner of the United States—they visited 49 states, missing only Oregon.

She was predeceased by her husband Eugene and daughter-in-law Allison Torrey.

Edna is survived by her five sons David Torrey and partner Sixto Hernandez of Hartland, VT, Mark Torrey and fiancé Bonnie Brady and Randall Torrey and wife Becky, all of Canaan, NH, Robert Torrey and significant other Clara Santiago of Pawtucket, RI, and Jonathan Torrey and wife Jenny of Firestone, CO; two brothers Larry Gray of Arizona and Herb Gray of East Thetford, VT; one sister Joyce Benway of Danbury, VT; seven grandchildren, many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 21, from 4 until 6 pm at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT. Graveside services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, April 22, at the West Lebanon Cemetery.
