White River Junction, VT - Edna E. Miller, 88, died on Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Jack Bryne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care in Lebanon, NH after a long illness. She was born on January 26, 1936, to Alice Mae (Gilmer) McDaniel in Cuthbert, GA and spent her early years in Charlotte, NC. Edna married Harold Mayette in 1956 and lived in Wilder, VT until they parted ways in 1975. In 1977 she married James Miller and they lived in NY until his death in 2005. She enjoyed her years in White River Junction working in the cafeteria at the White River Grammer School. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her life and she will be missed by them forever.

She is survived by her three girls Nancy Nanopoulos of Thetford Center, VT, Cindy Mayette of White River Junction, VT, and Connie Wilmot of Fairlee, VT plus an older daughter Donna Gilmer of FL; four children Debbie, Connie Ann,  Patrick, and James all of Glen Falls, NY; one sister Ruth Grant and husband John of Wilder; one sister-in-law Patti McDaniel of Boonville, NY; seventeen grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Miller, her mother Alice McDaniel, her brother Josef McDaniel, and her former husband, Harold Mayette, the father of her three girls who she remained friends with until his death.

A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in White River Junction, VT. Edna's family is grateful for the care she received in her final days, and they would appreciate memorial donations to the Jack Bryne Center. Through the years, Edna also received loving care from some special caregivers including Morgan, Sharon, and Holly.
