Edna "Tedi" Fullerton, 87, a former longtime resident of Windsor passed away Sunday, August 25, at the Star Farm Nursing Center in Burlington, VT.
She was born August 19, 1926 at her parent's home in West Windsor, Vermont the daughter of Oliver and Henrietta (Hanscom) Russell. She grew up with her siblings and parents on their farm in West Windsor. One of the farm hands referred to Edna as "Edna Tedna" and the nickname "Tedi" stuck. When she was nine, the family moved to Windsor, where she received her schooling and graduated from Windsor High School in 1945. She married Laurence W. Fullerton in Windsor on July 11, 1945. They lived in California while Mr. Fullerton was serving in the US Navy during World War II. Following his honorable discharge they returned to Vermont and resided in Burlington while Larry studied at the University of Vermont. After his graduation they returned to Windsor. In the early 1960's, "Tedi" started Tedi Fullerton Realty in Windsor, which she owned and operated for many years. She was also a member of the National Association of Realtors
She and her husband were avid golfers and spent many years traveling and playing at different courses throughout Vermont. Following their retirement they spent the winter months in Myrtle Beach, SC with many friends from the Windsor community.
They also were fond of spending time at York Beach, ME.
"Tedi" was a longtime active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Windsor.
Mr. Fullerton passed away on January 18, 1995. She was also predeceased by one son, Todd A. Fullerton on September 30, 2003 and by her parents, one brother, Robert Russell and five sisters, Olive Dunbar, Beverly Pope, Stella Starr, Viola Merrick and Helen St. John.
Survivors include one son, Scott B. Fullerton and his wife, Margaret of Grand Isle, VT, one granddaughter, Jessie Fullerton of Grand Isle, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 29 at 2:00 PM at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Windsor. The Rev. Susan Langle, Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Claremont will officiate. A reception for family and friends will follow in the church hall.
Committal services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor.
The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor assisted with the arrangements.
