East Corinth, VT - Earl H. Gagnon, Jr., 65, died Sunday November 29, 2015 at home in East Corinth, with his daughter and son-in-law by his side, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born July 23, 1950 in Providence, RI a son of Earl H. and Constance (Drury) Gagnon. Earl grew up and graduated from high school in Warwick, RI. He spent his career at Taco in Cranston, RI as a machinist. He lived in Warwick, in his family's home, until moving to Vermont in 1986. He has lived in East Corinth since.
Earl was a true renaissance man. On top of working several jobs at a time to provide for his family, Earl also tackled things such as home improvement projects, auto repair, and single fatherhood. After retiring, Earl reaped the fruits of his labor by spending time watching his daughter grow into an independent, successful woman. He also loved camping and stock-car racing; he had a special affinity for the Ford Mustang, of which he has owned three. Finally, Earl loved his dogs. Sunny, his loveable lab/shepherd, is just as devastated by Earl's passing.
He was predeceased by his mother in 2003 and is survived by his daughter Constance Kelley and her husband Stephen of East Corinth. Earl was particularly excited for the arrival of his granddaughter in February. He also leaves his uncle Robert Drury and wife Rosemary of North Carolina.
A viewing will take place at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Cranston, Rhode Island on Thursday evening, December 3rd from 3-7 pm. Funeral services will begin at 9:00 am at the funeral home on Friday, the 4th.
