West Hartford-Dwight "Cy" Houghton, passed away July 23 after a long battle with heart disease. He graduated from Woodstock High in 1942, then joined the Navy where he served his country during WWII. Returning home he married his high school sweetheart and took a job at the Veterans Administration in White River Junction where he became an adjudicator. When he retired, after 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and woodworking.
He leaves his wife of 68 years Norma (Childs) Houghton, two daughters, Valerie Houghton and Kelsie Bastis and her husband Richard, a son, Michael Houghton and his wife Beth, two granddaughters, two grandsons and six great-grandsons. He was predeceased by a son Thomas. Cy was a devoted husband a loving father and we will miss him every day. There will be no service.
