WINDSOR, VT

Duane H. "Buster" Bandy, 66, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, November 3 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center Emergency Department.

He was born December 30, 1951 in Windsor the son of Duane C. and Geraldine (Johnson) Bandy. He received his schooling in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1972. Following his graduation, Buster was employed at the former Petco Gas Station, the Windsor Cemetery Association and the Vermont State Liquor Store all in Windsor. He had been employed by the Town of Windsor working with the Water and Sewer Department from 1974 until his retirement in 2017.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Windsor Men's Softball League and the Windsor Bowling League. He had an infectious laugh and took great pleasure in helping others. He enjoyed gardening and loved his dogs. He especially was fond of spending time with his family and many friends.

He was predeceased by his mother, Geraldine I. Bandy and one niece, Melissa J. Taggart.

Survivors include his father, Duane C. Bandy of Windsor, one sister, Janice L. McCoy and her husband, Louis of Enfield Center, NH, one brother, Kevin P. Bandy and his wife, Donna of Corning, OH, one niece, Bobbi Rhoad and her husband, Andrew, and their sons, Ethan Rhoad and Owen Rhoad, all of Brownsville.

At Buster's request, a graveside service will be held Sunday, November 11 at 3:00 PM in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor, with Pastor Walter McDaniels of the Weathersfield Bow Baptist Church, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Upper Valley Humane Society at 300 Old Route 10, Enfield, NH 03748.
