Douglas Bruce Leach

Hartford, VT – Douglas Bruce Leach, 45, died Friday June 15th at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH following a tragic accident.

Doug was born September 28, 1966 in Boston, MA a son of Bruce Douglas Leach and Eleanor (Pagano) Leach. He grew up in Chelmsford, MA and shortly after graduating from Nashoba Valley Technical High School in Westford, MA he moved to Vermont and has lived in the Upper Valley for the past 25 years. Since arriving Doug has worked as a professional in the heating oil and propane industry in the Upper Valley, most recently as a co-owner of Patriot Fuels.

He was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors including hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed golf and hockey, especially coaching Hartford Youth Hockey when his son was younger.

He is survived by his wife Cindy (Gradie) Leach of Hartford; his children Jeffrey Douglas Leach of Quechee, VT and Ashley Elizabeth Leach of Hartford; parents Bruce and Eleanor Leach of Ryegate, VT; sisters Lisa D. Eldridge and Alison M. Leach both of Chelmsford, MA; and nephews Derek B. Eldridge and his wife Katharine, Drew J. Eldridge, David B. Leach, Connor P. McLaughlin and Robert D. Tower. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law Steven T.M. Eldridge.

Friends and family will gather to remember Doug on the shore of Kennedy Pond behind the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor on Thursday June 21st at 4PM with a reception following until 7PM.
