Wilder, VT- Dorothy Prior, 91, died June 4, 2017 at Lebanon Center Eldercare in Lebanon, NH surrounded by her family.
Dorothy was born November 28, 1925 in Sherburne, VT daughter of Allen and Emily (Fairbanks) Severance. She has been a lifetime resident of the Upper Valley most recently resided at Valley Terrace in Wilder.
Dorothy worked at the Vermont Heel Factory in Wilder for many years before going to work at the Holiday Inn in White River Jct., VT before retiring. After her retirement she enjoyed reading, puzzle books, playing cards and BINGO and going to the dog track. Dot could be found each weekend having breakfast at Shryl's Diner. Of all of her interests she enjoyed spending time with her family the most.
Dorothy is predeceased by her daughter Frances Prior; ex-husband William Prior Sr, four sisters, Shirley Swazey, Marlene Perkins, Bernice Demary and Effie Washburn; three brothers, Cleo, Gordon and Donald Severance.
She is survived by two sons, William Prior Jr. of Lebanon, NH and Gary Prior of Concord, NH; five daughters Erlene Fogg of Lebanon, NH, Sandy Henry of West Lebanon, NH, Lorraine Prior of White River Junction, VT, Sherry Prior of Windsor, VT and Donna Burnham of Plainfield, NH; fourteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held from 6-8pm, Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT. A graveside service will be held at 11am Friday June 9 in the Prosper Cemetery in Woodstock, VT
