Dorothy Lois Cook

Enfield, NH – Dorothy L. Cook, 89, died Thursday, August 16, 2012, at Genesis Eldercare in Lebanon, NH. Dorothy (Dot) was born January 11, 1923, in Haverhill, NH, the daughter of Ralph and Lois J. (Patridge) Adams. She grew up in Orford, NH, and graduated from Orford High School Class of 1941. She married Everett E. Cook on January 6, 1944, in Norwich, VT. They lived in Lewiston, VT, and later Norwich, VT, for a short time before moving to Enfield, NH, in 1947 where they spent all of their married lives. Everett died in April of 2010.

Mrs. Cook was a former member of the Rebekah's in Enfield. She enjoyed gardening and bringing flowers she had grown to family and friends. A prized baker, she lovingly made cookies for her entire family every Christmas. She enjoyed spending time with family especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Bruce A. Cook and his wife Sherry A. of Grafton, NH; her daughter Gayle A. Ibey also of Grafton, NH; six grandchildren; Jennifer A. Bryant and her husband Dudley E., IV of Tampa, FL, Benjamin T. Ibey and his wife Erin G. of North Hampton, NH, Travis E. Cook and his wife Heather L. of Dover, NH, MAJ Cassandra S. Crosby and her husband CPT Ryan M. of Hope Mills, NC, Kathryn E. Clatterbaugh and her husband J. Stewart, III of Richmond, VA, Lauren A. Ibey and her fiancé, Richard D. Blackburn of Weymouth, MA; and five great-grandchildren; Justin D. Cook, Chloe M. and Cora E. Crosby, and Sophie (Josephine A.) and Quint (Dudley E. V) Bryant; a brother, Harold Adams, of Lebanon, NH, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Cook is predeceased by her siblings, Irene LaBounty formerly of Enfield, NH, Raymond (Bob) H. Adams formerly of Fairlee, VT, John Q. Adams, Sr. formerly of Dorchester, NH, and Ruth Lowery formerly of Wilder, VT.

A graveside service will be held at the Hillside Cemetery in Norwich, VT, on Saturday, August 25, at 3 p. m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Cook's name to the charity of one's choice.
