Dorothy Emma Jewett
White River Jct., VT – Dorothy Emma Jewett, 93, died Monday October 23, 2017 at Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct.
She was born January 19, 1924 a daughter of Edward Chauncey and Lurena May (Rice) Jewett in Windsor, VT. Dot grew up in Windsor and began working at Myers Department Store at age 15 and graduated from Windsor High School Class of 1942. She began her career in Medical Records at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, NH in 1959, retiring as supervisor of the microfilm department in 1986. She moved to Lebanon, NH in 1961 where she was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church. In 1991 she moved to White River Jct., VT.
Dot enjoyed traveling to seeing new places and loved to work in her flower gardens.
She was predeceased by a brother Walton Jewett and his wife Irene, formerly of Putney, VT. She is survived by nieces Theresa Smart and Sandra Jewett both of Dummerston, VT and several additional great nieces and nephews.
Committal will be in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor, VT at a later date.
