BRISTOL, VT- Dorothy Allen(LaBombard), 88, former longtime resident of Sharon Vermont, passed away on Saturday, January 29, at her home in Bristol, Vermont. Dorothy will be fondly remembered by her children as a loving and affectionate mother who derived much pride and satisfaction from her home
and flower garden.
She was born December 18, 1922 in Hanover, NH, the daughter of William and Dora (Colcord) LaBombard. She attended and graduated from Hanover High School. On June 15, 1942 she was married to her husband of 37 years, Edward Allen Jr., in Hanover.
For many years, Dorothy worked at the Allen Drug Store in Hanover. She also worked at H. Margolon Co. in Bellows Falls, Vt., where she was a supervisor. Dorothy was a resident of Sharon, Vermont for 39 years. After leaving Sharon, she spent time in North Charlestown, NH, Windsor, VT, and finally Bristol VT. She was a former parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hanover, NH and St. Anthony's Church in Bethel, VT.
Dorothy is predeceased by her husband Edward, three brothers, and three sisters.
She leaves behind two sons, Edward and Hudson Allen, two daughters, Suzanne Bottaro and Lausanne Allen, a brother, Raymond LaBombard, five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held Thursday May 12, at the West Hartford cemetery in West Hartford, VT. The Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
