IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Doris
Campbell
February 4, 1927 – April 1, 2023
South Reading, VT – Doris Elaine Campbell, 96, died at her daughter's home in South Reading on Saturday, April 1, 2023. She was born on February 4, 1927, in Westmont, NJ, the only child of William and Marion (Blazie) Boogar.
As a child and into her adulthood, Doris was very athletic; she loved roller skating and competed as a high diver. She had a devilish sense of humor and delighted in keeping her friends and family on their toes. Prior to her marriage, she worked at the PSFS Insurance Company in Philadelphia. After she met and married her husband Edwin F. Campbell, they raised their daughters in Magnolia, NJ and she worked at being an amazing and involved mother and wife.
The two of them loved to play music together and she enjoyed keeping the neighborhood kids well-fed with her famous pork roll and cheese sandwiches. In 2003, she moved to Vermont to be closer to her daughter and adored being around her daughter Donna's Irish Wolfhounds. After Donna's death, along with her other daughter Connie, she formed her own menagerie: chickens, a parrot, two dogs, fish, and a cat. She loved the companionship of animals and the beautiful scenery of Vermont.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie L. Campbell and her life partner, Brennan Calles, Goldendoodles, Dora and Cindy, and cat, Salusa, all of South Reading.
She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Donna Monahan.
