ASCUTNEY, VT
Dora L. Smith, 73, a resident of Ascutney passed away Sunday evening, February 10, at Cedar Hill Healthcare in Windsor.
She was born November 5, 1939 in Windsor the daughter of Francis and Clara (Ellis) Perry. She received her schooling in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1958. She married Raymond H. Smith in Windsor on June 28, 1958. She was employed at the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for twenty two years until the plant closed in 1987. She then went to work for Split Ball Bearing in Lebanon, NH and later at Cedar Hill Healthcare in Windsor. She most recently was employed at IHS Nursing Home until her retirement.
She attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Windsor and was a member of the American Legion Post #25 Auxiliary in Windsor.
She was predeceased by her father, one brother, Francis Perry, one sister, Paula Martel and one granddaughter, Brandy Burridge.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond H. Smith of Ascutney, her mother Clara Perry of Plainfield, NH, one daughter, Laurie Jean Burridge and her husband, Russ of Newbury, VT, two sons, Raymond Smith and his wife, Cynthia of Claremont, NH and Scott Smith and his wife, Heather of Brownsville, VT, ten grandchildren, Erica Smith, Nicholas Smith and his wife Kayla, Alex Smith, Will Smith, Maddie Smith, Quincey Smith, Sarah Burridge, Noah Burridge, Matthew Husband and Holly Cannistraci, three great grandchildren, Ella Rose Smith, Madison Husband and Jayden Cannistraci, one brother, Roland Perry of Unity, NH, two sisters, Claire Broughton of Claremont, NH and Marie Loranger of Alachua, FL, several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor on Friday evening, February 15 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will begin at 7:00 PM, with the Rev. Susan Langle, Pastor of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Claremont, officiating. Committal services will be held in the spring in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor.
