White River Junction, VT – Donald Theron Wimett, 53, died on Monday, January 13, 2025, at home surrounded by his family after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Donald was born on September 15, 1971, in Lebanon, NH, the son of David and Marian (Adams) Wimett. He grew up in Enfield and graduated from Mascoma Valley Regional High School in 1989. Donni worked at Deli Haven while in high school and then Sweet Tomatoes (now Three Tomatoes) for 17 years. He later transitioned from the kitchen to become a rigger with Miller Construction in Windsor, briefly leaving to work at Shaker Hill Granite before returning to Miller Construction, where he worked until his health forced him to stop.

A diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Fire Cats, Donni also enjoyed golfing, fast cars, snowmobiling, go carts, watching movies, and watching cooking and car restoration shows. He loved Formula 1 racing, and both cart and dirt track racing. He loved the times spent with his aunt Nancy, cousin Earl & his nephews talking racing. He loved every moment when his friends would stop by to reminisce old times and would bring his favorite foods and treats. He loved feeling the wind through his hair while riding motorcycles and traveling across the US and the world. Donni loved all the days spent with one of his best friends Larry on the lake and all of the adventures they had together.

However, his greatest passion was cooking. Even while bedridden, he was still the head chef - reading his recipes aloud for his sous chefs to execute.

The circle of friends Donni had with unwavering support and generosity was extensive, you all made his last few months full of good times, love and laughter. We are forever grateful to each one of you.

Donni's love of life, his love of his family and friends, his stories, his sense of humor, his cooking advice and his laughter will be missed by the many people he touched.

Donni was preceded in death by his father, David P. Wimett, Sr., and his brother, David P. Wimett, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Abbagail Wimett of Burlington, VT; his son, Henry Wimett of Hartland, VT; his mother, Marian Wimett of White River Junction; and two sisters, Vicki Braley & her fiancé Michael Martin of South Royalton, VT and Charlene Gaudette & her husband Raymond of Wilder, VT; and many nieces & nephews.

A celebration of Donni's life will be held in the spring, details will be announced at a later date.
