West Windsor, VT – Donald L. "Skip" Morrison, 84, died Saturday March 28, 2020 at his home in West Windsor.
Skip was born October 17, 1935 in Boston, MA a son of Lyman and Dorothy (Russell) Morrison. He graduated from high school in Millbury, MA and later earned his undergraduate and masters degrees from Clark University in Worcester, MA before serving in the US Army from 1958-1959. He taught overseas for several years for the Department of Defense, American Dependent schools in Japan and Germany. After returning to the US he began his career as a teacher at the Hartford Memorial Middle School where he taught for nearly 25 years retiring in 1993.
In Skip's retirement years he took pride in volunteering for the HIV/HCV Resource Center in Lebanon, NH, where he provided essential support to people in need. In recent years he has been active at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Aging Resource Center where he enjoyed classes.
He always appreciated meeting new people and could make easy conversation with anyone. He was a very nurturing, caring man who spent much of his time taking care of others, including his cat and faithfully feeding the birds each morning.
Skip was predeceased by a brother Walter Mains and a sister Barbara Stansbury.
He leaves his daughters Lori Morrison and Kimberly Curtis, son-in-law Christopher Curtis and grandchildren Mallory and Jacob Curtis, all of Windsor. He also leaves his partner of 20 years Charles Cooper of Canada.
