Springfield, VT – Donald Leo Davis, 70, died on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Springfield Hospital. He was born on October 19, 1953, in Morrisville, VT. While living in Proctorsville, he met Rebecca Sargent on the sidewalk along Main Street. They had both decided to take a walk from their different apartments, realized they shared many interests, and began dating. They married on November 6, 1995, in North Springfield and lived most of their life together in Springfield. Donald was a great dad who always had time for his children and grandchildren; they were his shadows and he adored being their Papa.

At home he was always tinkering with something and liked to say: duct tape and zip ties can fix almost anything. In recent years, he enjoyed playing games on his smart phone, bowling on the Wii, watching his favorite old tv shows, and listening to Elvis and Johnny Cash.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca Davis; four children Chris Davis of New York, Tammy Davis of Bennington, VT, Jonathan Merritt of Springfield, and Kayla Davis and partner Steven of Springfield; grandchildren Samantha, Isabelle, Katrina, Amber, John Jr., Nakita, Faith, Ashley, Adrianna, Damian, Tristan, Andrew, Jaiden, Joshua, Sarah, and Olyvia; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Leo H. Davis, mother Emma W. (Ruggles) Connolly, son Christopher Merritt, and two siblings Hayford Davis and Donna Fullton.
