Dolores W. Mock

Ayer, MA - Dolores W. Mock, 87, formerly of Wilder, VT, died Saturday, August 13, 2016, at the Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer, MA, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on October 19, 1928, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Franzoni) Warner. She was raised in Rutland, VT, and graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy and Green Mountain Junior College.

She married Carleton J. Mock of White River Junction, VT, on March 26, 1951. They made their home in several places throughout the United States and in Puerto Rico as Mr. Mock traveled with his job. They moved to Wilder in 1969, where they lived until moving to Florida in 1990, returning to Wilder in 2002. Her husband died in 2006, and Dolores lived in Ayer, MA, since 2014.

Before having children, she was the executive secretary to the chief medical officer at Albany Medical Center. Upon moving to the Upper Valley, she worked for the Hartford School District lunch program before being employed as a medical receptionist at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1990.

She is survived by her son Carl Mock and his wife Patricia of Shirley, MA; daughter Donna Guarino and her husband Joseph of Wilder, VT; daughter Karen Hine and her husband John of South Hadley, MA; granddaughter Emily (Mock) Daigle and her husband Greg of Groton, MA; granddaughter Kristina (Guarino) Coen and her husband Kevin of Wilmington, DE; grandson Joseph Guarino of Wilder, VT; granddaughter Alyson (Mock) Nash and her husband Bryan of Alexandria, VA; grandson Zachary Hine of Colorado Springs, CO; granddaughter Melissa Hine of Holyoke, MA; and four great-grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart: Cooper and Avery Daigle and Caroline and Elizabeth Coen. She is also survived by her brother Edward Warner and his wife Shari of Little River, SC; a sister-in-law Sheila (Mock) Bean and her husband Melvin of Wilder, VT; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was very active with the Bugbee Senior Center and the Ayer Council on Aging. She was fond of playing bingo and going out to dine. When her health allowed, she loved to travel and especially enjoyed visiting Disney World. Her greatest love, however, was being with her family, and she took special pleasure in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
